EXPENSES, CREDIT OPTIONS, & CHANGES/CANCELLATIONS

The cost of Washburn Academy is $325 per week, plus a credit fee if participants choose to receive graduate credit.  There is an additional nonrefundable $50 registration fee.  These fees include all lunches, business tours, and materials/supplies except where noted in the workshop description.  All participants, regardless of past participation MUST COMPLETE the Special Student Application to receive UW-La Crosse credit.  Washburn Academy and UW-La Crosse are separate enrollments.

*NOTE:  The 2nd credit cost for Responsive Classroom is $185.  this fee differs from typical Washburn Academy workshops.

Registration Procedure
Please follow the directions on the Washburn Application Form (.pdf) as well the UW-La Crosse Special Student Application (.pdf).  Submit application materials and appropriate fees to your school district's Washburn Academy contact person by March 20, 2009.  Districts are asked to submit applications to Washburn Academy by March 27. IMPORTANT NOTES: All credit fees must be paid by the first day of your workshop.  Applications will be accepted throughout the summer, although workshop cancellation decisions will be made in April.  Washburn Academy sets no limits as to the number of participants who may attend per school district.

UW-Lacrosse Action Research Credit (C-I 750 Section 737)
Please call (608) 785-6513 to add the additional credit.  Checks for the UW-L credit fees (C-I 750 only) should be made payable to UW-L.  Send to : Continuing Education, 264 Morris Hall, 1725 State Street, La Crosse, WI  54601.

Grades for both Washburn weeks will be awarded during the summer.  Grades for the Action Research UW-L credit (C-I 750 Sections 737) will not be awarded until the first week of January, 2010.  By taking two weeks of Washburn Academy, it will be possible to receive four credits in the summer session.  Grades can ONLY be accessed online at the UW-L home page: http://www.uwlax.edu and click on TALON at the top right.

CHANGES/CANCELLATIONS
Written notice to CESA #4 (Mary Bushek) and your school district will be required by the following dates in order to be considered for a refund for cancellation:

	June 30 if attending the Holmen week
	July 10 if attending The Responsive Classroom
	July 13 if attending the Onalaska week

Workshop fees can be refunded after that date IF the workshop has sufficient enrollment.  The $50 registration fee is nonrefundable.

Please note: Workshops with less than 10 enrollees may not be offered and participants will be enrolled in alternate workshop choices.  Workshop changes will accommodated IF the workshop has 10 participants, or other designated minimum.  A $15 fee will be charged for unused supplies and copies.
