Registration

Registration  cost to attend the Academy is $285 plus a $25 non-refundable application fee (to be attached to each application submitted).  The total registration is $310, with checks or Purchase Orders payable to the Sally Ride Academy.  This amount may be covered by your school district through Title II of the No Child Left Behind Act, Title I, Special Education, AODA, Technology, and Vocational Education funds.  Teachers may be sponsored through a foundation or business/industry partnership.  If you are sponsored by a local business or community agency, matching funds are available.  Group discounts are possible for new textbook adoptions.  There is a $30 discount for returning Sally Ride alumni, and your school can qualify for a free registration by sending five paid participants from one building or district - the sixth teacher is free (applied to registration only).  If you receive a host school discount, you are not eligible for the other registration discounts.  To be eligible for the above mentioned discounts, applications must be received by June 1.

Graduate Credit

This summer many of our courses will be offered for undergraduate as well as graduate credit.  One, two, or three credits (listed with each course description) from Cardinal Stritch University may be earned for participation.  Checks for credit should be made payable to Sally Ride Academy and paid for with the application or on the second day of the academy.  This amount is in addition to the $310 Sally Ride fee listed under Registration.  The Sally Ride Academy does not accept Credit Cards.

All teachers will be required to participate in the course discussions and business/industry tours.  Additional expectations beyond the week of the academy are required for two and three credit options.  (Some examples of additional requirements are lesson plans, units of instruction, written reports, in-class research, follow-up instruction online, follow-up class sessions, or a combination of these requirements.)  The exact date and time of the follow-up class sessions for three credit participants will be determined by your instructor at the Academy.  Third credit options taken after July 1 may not be available for fall salary lane changes or DPI certification.
