KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Ted Neitzke - Administrator,
Educator, Author
"I am who I am today because a
teacher saw potential in me."
This statement is true for Ted
Neitzke because he is proof of the
power of a teacher's intervention.
During the keynote address at this
year's McAuliffe Academy, Neitzke
will share stories of interventions
that have made the difference for
students around the state of
Wisconsin, and share ways to change
our own behaviors for the benefit of
others.
Neitzke is the assistant
superintendent of Curriculum and
Instruction for the West Bend School
District and is the former principal
of Badger Middle School in West
Bend, Wisconsin. His middle
school has employed intervention
processes for over six years and
demonstrated significant growth.
He has published articles on
interventions and is an advocate for
staff development.
Neitzke's philosophy is simple: "The
only way we're going to
fundamentally change the behaviors
of our children, is if we change our
own." He has worked with and
presented at more than 20 districts
in Wisconsin, Minnesota and
Illinois. Ted has presented
for the Wisconsin Department of
Public Instruction, the Association
of Wisconsin State Administrators,
and at the Professional Learning
Communities at Work Institute in
Lincolnshire, Illinois.
Ted Neitzke's appearance is made
possible through the support of the
Pfundtner family.
