Transform Your Teaching and Learning Using a SMARTBoard
Dan King, School District of Onalaska, Onalaska, WI
kinda@webmail.onalaska.k12.wi.us

This session is designed for K-12 educators who are interested in an in-depth look at interactive learning through the use of SMARTBoards™. Interactive whiteboards are an effective integration tool to support teaching and learning and to deliver quality interactive digital content in the K-12 environment.

Discover how you can raise the level of student engagement in your classroom, motivate reluctant students and promote enthusiasm for learning through digital lessons and interactive activities. You will walk away with many ideas how to streamline instruction, use SMART Notebook software and actively engage your students with these powerful learning tools.

Objectives:

  • To become comfortable with the hardware and software components of a SMARTBoard™.

  • To understand the importance of interactive learning in the 21st Century classroom.

  • To be able to operate all aspects of the SMARTBoard™ and related components.

  • To learn how to use SMART NoteBook software effectively with the SMARTBoard™.

  • To be able to share lessons with colleagues.

  • To transform teaching of the participant.

Comments from last year: “This workshop was the best I’ve been to in 5 years…Dan does an excellent job of balancing learning time with work time.”
