Microsoft Word and Excel: Timesaving
Tips for Teachers
Therese Frana, Onalaska, WI
frath@webmail.onalaska.k12.wi.us
Microsoft Word and Excel are
powerful teaching tools. Are you
taking advantage of all that these
software packages have to offer?
That’s a tall order, especially when
you only have time to use certain
features and functions during your
busy day, with no time to explore
what these programs can really do
for you. They can increase your
expertise and allow you to get more
done in less time.
This course will introduce you to
some of the intermediate and
advanced features available in
Microsoft Word and Excel (PC
version). Time will be allotted for
teachers to prepare materials to
take back to their classrooms.
Examples of possible resources
include newsletters, lesson plans,
brochures, labels, seating charts,
pie charts and presentation
materials. The participant will
become proficient in the use of
advanced features of Microsoft Word
and Excel.
