Having difficulty incorporating energizers, group building activities and learning communities into your classroom? This workshop will give you practical tools to create a positive learning community that inspires the stages of inclusion, influence, and community in your room. Participants will experience, through participation, many practical strategies that will help build a sense of community and enhance all students’ success. Learn individual, small group and whole group activities that will
improve your overall classroom
management.

Participants will:

  • Demonstrate creation of a positive learning environment in the classroom by teaching specific collaborative skills and creating classroom agreements for all students.

  • Apply knowledge of the stages of group development to select appropriate cooperative learning activities

  • Design active group learning experiences that develop student-centered classrooms.

  • Understand the need for, and power of, reflective practice.

  • Create activities from current lesson plans that incorporate collaborative skills, reflective practices, and authentic assessments.
