SPANISH FOR TEACHERS (AND TRAVELERS)
Patricia Hoch, Onalaska
hocpa@mail.onalaska.k12.wi.us
Do you have Spanish speaking ELL
(English Language Learners) students
in you classroom? Have you
wished you could communicate basic
social and classroom information in
the language of your Spanish
speaking students? Would you
like to understand the cultural
background of your Spanish speaking
students? (Do you want some
basic Spanish skills for travel
purposes?)
This workshop will provide you with
an introduction to spoken and
written Spanish and to Hispanic
culture. No prior experience
with Spanish is necessary.
Vocabulary development and language
structures will emphasize
communication pertaining to a school
environment. In addition to
teaching written and oral
communication, the workshop will
include Hispanic holidays and
cultural information that will
enhance your ability to understand
and communicate effectively with
Spanish-speaking students and
parents.
This workshop is suitable for
classroom teachers, ELL
paraprofessionals, mentors, program
coordinators and others who must
understand and communicate with a
Spanish speaking population.
