SCIENCE & STIPENDS & SUPPLIES - OH MY!  PART III
UW-La Crosse/WTC Physics & Chemistry Faculty

Week I: July 14-18
Week II:  July 21-25 (UW-L)

NOTE:  ALL PARTICIPANTS will receive a $400 STIPEND for TWO weeks of summer workshops and will be expected to participate in two follow-up sessions during the 2008-09 school year.  THE ACADEMY WORKSHOP FEE WILL BE PAID by an ESEA Title IIB grant.

Do YOU wish you were more confident of your science content knowledge?  Are your students ready to be tested in Science on the WKCE?  Would you like some great new hands-on ideas?  Grade 2-8 teachers will have an opportunity to participate in two weeks of high quality workshops combining Wisconsin's Model Academic Standards and related science content, constructivist teaching methods, technology integration strategies, and new learning plans that will be shared with colleagues.  Each participant in these make-and-take sessions will receive $700 worth of equipment and software to enhance their classroom instruction.

This workshop is a continuation of the 2007 "Science and Stipends and Supplies - Oh My!"  Part II workshop, which received rave reviews.  A grant will allow us to offer the same great instructors, stipends, equipment freebies, and new science content.  The 2008 two-week workshop will focus on Sound and Music and Color and Light.

Overall workshop rating at Washburn 2007 - 3.76 (4 point scale).
