ENGLISH AIN'T EVERYTHING -
WORKING WITH OUR ENGLISH LANGUAGE
LEARNERS
Kourtney Feldhausen, Howard-Suamico
School District
kourfeld@hssd.k12.wi.us
This workshop will challenge ELL
staff and teachers to look at how
their instruction and programming
for English Language Learners
affects the student's total learning
experience.
By understanding the different needs
and learning styles of ELLs,
instructional strategies and
educational programs can be adapted
to meet student's motivation and
English learning needs.
Understanding students' background
and the important role their family
life and values play in their
schooling will help ELL staff and
teachers evaluate current programs
and practices with ELLs.
