ADVANCED AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER
TRAINING: AN IN-DEPT LOOK AT SOCIAL
RELATIONS, CHALLENGING BEHAVIORS,
TEAMING AND PROGRAMMING ISSUES

This
advanced course is for participants
who have previously taken a
foundation course to develop a core
understanding of the features and
characteristics of ASD. this
class will take an in-depth look at
the following:
-
Social interaction differences:
assessment, intervention
strategies, and social
interaction skills programming
(i.e. curriculum and service
delivery model) will be
discussed.

Challenging behaviors:
students will participate in
numerous activities designed to
increase their skills to
successfully address the
challenging behaviors often
exhibited by students with ASD.
-
Teaming: students will
increase their skills and
knowledge in developing
collaborative educational teams
to meet the needs of students
with ASD.
-
Programming: essential
elements of educational
programming for students with
ASD will be closely examined.
Critical components for IEPs for
students with ASD will be
reviewed.
