ADOLESCENT LITERACY STRATEGIES IN
THE SCIENCE CLASSROOM

Participants will
learn about and participate in
literacy strategies to help teach
reading in the secondary science
classroom. A day will be spent on
the interactive elements of reading
in a content area; a day on
vocabulary strategies; a day on
informational text; and one day on
reflection strategies. Participants
will participate in activities
modeled by the instructor and then
be provided with time to develop
activities for their own classroom
in each of the above areas.
