MOODLE: AN ONLINE LEARNING
EXPERIENCE
INSTRUCTOR(S):
Myragene Pettit,
Arrowhead High School
GRADE LEVEL: 6-12
CREDIT: 1, 2 or 3
Online learning is becoming ever
more important for success in the 21st
Century. Whether our students
choose to join the military, attend
a technical school, or attend
college; they will need to know how
to learn online. States, such
as Michigan, are starting to mandate
an "online experience" as a high
school graduation requirement.
Many Wisconsin schools either
require or "recommend" that their
students have an online experience.
Moodle is a free online course
management system.
In this course, participants will
experience Moodle as both a student
and instructor. As an
instructor, participants will learn
concepts, techniques, and strategies
for implementing online learning in
their classrooms. As a
culminating project, participants
will create an online unit, project,
or experience for their students.
Once the unit is completed, this
on-line component will be ready to
be "blended" into traditional,
face-to-face class, creating a
"hybrid" or "blended" class.
