This is an exciting session that
focuses on "integration instead of
isolation" within the required
curriculum. Teachers learn
strategies for integrating reading,
writing and research into every
aspect of the school day as they
make graphic organizers that focus
on basic skills while teaching
content area subjects.
Participants will view projects,
reports, and classroom work made and
developed by students. They
will also make numerous examples of
graphic organizers, manipulatives,
teacher-directed materials, and
student reporting formats that can
be used in their own classrooms,
regardless of the level or subject
taught.
This workshop present techniques for
planning, implementing, and
organizing integration while keeping
in mind the diverse needs of
students performing at many
different academic levels.
Learn about FoldablesTM
that help students organize
information in creative fun ways,
while providing practice in basic
writing skills, finding main ideas,
reviewing vocabulary terms,
comparing and contrasting,
determining cause and effect, making
graphs and table, and more.
Teachers will leave this course with
outstanding classroom reading
materials and ideas.
