ACADEMIC PROGRESS)

This is a tiered course designed to
provide the participants with the
opportunity to increase their
knowledge and use of the Measures of
Academic Progress assessment to
improve student achievement in their
classroom. Starting with a day One
introductory session, the week will
continue to build skills each day
leading to the use of MAPS,
DesCartes adn Lexile in planning
differentiated instruction.
Day One:
Understand assessment and the
triangulation of data
Define Measures of Academic Progress
and the role it plays in classroom
instruction
Establish student "buy in" and the
role of active proctoring
Experience the test taking process
Day Two:
Access MAP data reports online
Understand MAP vocabulary
Understand and Interpret MAP reports
Day Three:
Understand the differentiated
classroom
Practice differentiated instruction
strategies
Utilize MAP reports to flexible
group
Day Four:
Review MAP reports
Understand DesCartes and Lexile as
tools for classroom instruction
Create data ladders using MAP data
Day Five:
Create tiered lessons based on MAP
data
Putting it all together to improve
student achievement
