Do you have Spanish-speaking ELL
(English Language Learners) in your
classroom? Have you ever
wished you could communicate basic
social and classroom information in
the language of your
Spanish-speaking students?
Would you like to understand the
cultural background of your
Spanish-speaking students?
This course is designed to
facilitate communication between
classroom teachers and
Spanish-speaking students and
parents. Teachers will learn
strategies to communicate
authentically in Spanish.
Skills taught will include simple
strategies to communicate about
abilities, needs, wants, diagnostics
(what students should and should not
be doing) as well as giving
directions, asking for information
and all school related vocabulary.
Participants will focus on speaking
and understanding Spanish.
This course will offer the classroom
teacher a working knowledge of the
Spanish language.
