M.A.P. (MEASURES OF ACADEMIC PROGRESS)

GRADE LEVEL: K-12
CREDIT: 1, 2 or 3
 

This is a tiered course designed to provide the participants with the opportunity to increase their knowledge and use of the Measures of Academic Progress Assessment to improve student achievement in their classroom.  Starting with an introductory session, the week will continue to build skills each day leading to the use of M.A.P. in planning differentiated instruction.

Day One:

Understand assessment and the triangulation of data
Define Measures of Academic Progress and the role it plays in classroom instruction
Establish student "buy in" and the role of active proctoring
Experience the test taking process

Day Two:

Access MAP data reports online
Understand MAP vocabulary
Understand and Interpret MAP reports

Day Three:

Review MAP reports
Utilize MAP reports to flexible group
Create data ladders using MAP data

Day Four:

Understand the differentiated classroom
Practice differentiated instruction strategies

Day Five:

Create lessons based on data and delivered to meet the needs of all learners
Putting it all together to improve student achievement

Participants have the option of earning 1, 2, or 3 graduate credits in this tiered course.  To earn 1 credit, participants must attend Day 1 & 2; to earn 2 credits, participants must attend Days 1-5 and turn in a required assignment; and to eran 3 credits, participants must attend Days 1-5, a follow-up session, and turn in a required assignment.
