HELP! NOT ALL MY STUDENTS
SPEAK ENGLISH! ~
Working with English Language
Learners (ELL) in the Content Areas
INSTRUCTOR(S):
Niki Nestoras,
Elmbrook School District
GRADE LEVEL: K-12
CREDIT: 2 or 3
Today's classrooms increasingly
include larger numbers of
linguistically and culturally divers
students. In order to better
educate these students, we must
first educate ourselves. This
class will provide information about
how to identify the ELL student and
the language acquisition process in
which they are engaged.
Cultural information and how to best
serve these diverse students will be
explored. Specific approaches,
tools, strategies, and best
practices for working with limited
English-speaking students will be
the focus.
