USING MOODLE TO CREATE EFFECTIVE
ONLINE LEARNING COMMUNITIES
INSTRUCTOR(S): Mike Giese,
Merrill School District
GRADE LEVEL: 9-12
In this workshop you will
be introduced to the basics of online learning using the Moodle
Course Manage-ment System. Moodle is a free open-source
solution designed using sound pedagogical principles for
managing online learning communities. In this workshop you
will learn the basics of navigation in Moodle and start to
develop a course in the Moodle environment. This course
could be as simple as posting materials for students to retrieve
(blended environment) to a fully functional online experience.
You will have time to use resources you have already created.
The instructor will be joined by other Merrill Online Learning
Teachers who are developing and using courses in an online
environment.
