SMART CLASSROOMS = ENGAGED LEARNERS

INSTRUCTOR(S): Heidi Catlin, Rhinelander School District
GRADE LEVEL: K-Post Secondary

The SMART Board interactive whiteboard engages students with diverse learning styles by providing both immediate access to a wide range of digital materials and a common focus for the entire class.  The purpose of this workshop is to demonstrate to teachers the powerful technology of the SMART Board to enhance lessons, motivate learners, and therefore increase student achievement.  Teachers will learn how to use all of the tools associated with the SMART Board, including the SMART Recorder, SMART Video Player, Ink Aware Application and the Floating Toolbar.  Teachers will also create a lesson activity using the Notebook software that includes attachments, web links, lesson activity tools and flash activities.  In addition, time will be spent gathering interactive websites that enhance the curriculum and work well with the SMART Board.  Teachers will return to their classrooms ready to use their SMART Board as a natural part of their day.
