MOVING TECHNOLOGY OUTDOORS

As a participant in this
workshop you will explore, through hands-on experience, how a
variety of student-popular "gadgets" including Palm Handhelds,
iPods, smartphone, small camcorders, Venier LabPro field
computers, Garmin GPS units, and more can be used to enhance
students' learning about the environment. You'll also
learn how to locate outstanding free or very inexpensive
applications for these devices . You'll learn how to find
a subscribe to free podcasts that relate to the environment.
We will delve into how videoconferencing can be used to connect
you and your students to experts as well as how it can be used
to create classroom projects and collaborations. This
workshop will assist teachers of all grade levels to infuse
technology into the teaching of environmental education.
NOTE:
This workshop will be presented via
interactive television with one site
at Nicolet Area Technical College in
Rhinelander and one site at Bayport
High School in Green Bay.
