GRAB THE LITERACY LION BY THE TAIL
INSTRUCTOR(S): Joyce Marr,
Dodgeville School District
GRADE LEVEL: PK-4
Experience activities
that will make language arts come alive for every child in your
room. Singing, chanting, visualizing and drawing will be
only a few of the learning approaches you will experience.
Don't worry about the publisher you use; these approaches can be
utilized with all of them. As Thomas Armstrong states,
"Make the journey of literacy come alive for students who might
otherwise have considered it drudgery." Participants will
study classroom instructional strategies that address the needs
of the types of learners identified by Howard Gardner and
develop a lesson that incorporates strategies to address three
different types of learners in their classrooms.
NOTE:
This workshop will be presented via
interactive television. Please
list your preferred site on the
registration form.
