BRAIN-BASED LEARNING/APPLYING BRAIN-BASED LEARNING IN AN ONLINE ENVIRONMENT

Brain-Based Learning, August 4-6.  This three-day workshop will focus on design, methods, and creating a learning environment that fits with how our brains learn naturally.  You will experience a variety of brain-based principles and methods while discovering more about our brains.  Focus will be on designing lessons/learning experiences using either David Meier's four stipe model or Colin Rose's six step MASTER plan.  You will want to bring along a course, seminar or competencies to work on.  You will have the opportunity to work with others to produce specific learning plans for your learning objectives and you leave with hundreds of ideas to enhance your courses.  The cost of this three-day workshop is $300.

Applying Brain-Based Learning in an Online Environment, August 7-8.  This workshop will demonstrate techniques to apply brain-based learning principles in an online course.  Discover strategies to use with online teaching and learning to increase student learning and satisfaction.  Find ways to make your course more learner centered.  Design your course incorporating methods into each step of the learning process that will engage the learners and keep them more involved.  The cost of this two-day workshop is $200.

Participation in all five days is $450.

PLEASE NOTE: For more information about these workshops and to register contact Bethyn Baldauf at 715.365.4548 or bbaldauf@nicoletcollege.edu.  You must register and pay for these workshops separately from other Academy offerings.  Your may register for graduate credit on the first day of the Academy.
