GGA10-02:
SCIENCE IS FUN & MAGICAL!
INSTRUCTOR(S):
Al Stawicke,
alsmagic@cheqnet.net
GRADE LEVEL: K-12
(5-Day Workshop)
After my keynote address three years
ago many people asked if I would
offer a workshop to explain and
teach all of the "secrets" behind my
science-magic demonstrations and
activities! This workshop is
guaranteed to add excitement to your
science classroom as well as
introduce great hands-on experiments
that will enrich your curriculum.
Time will be set aside to practice,
possibly build, and test all
demonstrations and tricks. The
art of magic will be introduced and
participants will be encouraged to
bring a favorite activity or
demonstration to share with the
group. At the end of the
workshop, time will be set aside for
a short "Science-Magic Show",
allowing participants to share with
the group one special trick or
demonstration that they have learned
during the week. All
participants will receive a
science-magic packet of materials, a
set of handouts, and a free "Science
Is Fun" t-shirt.
Participant Outcomes:
 |
New enthusiasm
|
 |
Willingness to try and
change one's teaching style
|
 |
Knowledge of how to
incorporate magic into new
activities and the
curriculum
|
PLEASE NOTE: In
order to have all of the science
magic packets, handouts and "Science
Is Fun" t-shirts available for those
attending this workshop, we must
have registrations for Science Is
Fun and Magical! not later than May
15, 2008. Register now to
reserve a spot in this great
workshop! Late registrations
will not be accepted for this
workshop.
