Instruction will
focus on an introduction to and
practice with the skills needed to
effectively use interactive
whiteboards in the classroom to
enhance and strengthen the
Wisconsin’s Academic Standards.
Participants will use instructional
time to explore SMARTBoards and
Notebook software tools first as a
user, then as a content-creator.
Structured activities, readings,
class discussions, reflections and
journals will enable participants to
gain an understanding of ITLS and
new digital literacy skills and
potential applications for the
classroom. Participants will be
expected to complete daily
activities and to develop a unit or
project plan for their classroom.
Objectives:
·
Use
SmartBoard and other technological
tools for enhanced learning by
students in Wisconsin classrooms.
·
Understand
the features and be able to use a
variety of tools and resources
within the Notebook software.
·
Discuss
the pros and cons of using
SmartBoards in the classroom and/or
for professional development
activities.
·
Integrate
the use of various media
technologies into the use of
SmartBoards.
·
Identify
Wisconsin Model Academic Standards
for Information & Technology
Literacy (ITLS), which could be
reinforced using interactive
whiteboards, and identify new
digital literacy or 21st Century
skills, which could also be
introduced.
