In this training participants will learn how to apply verbal de-escalation strategies at an advanced level. 

Workshop participants will learn how to:

· Develop strategies to prevent a conflict from escalating into a more volatile incident or crisis.

· Learn several different types of debriefing and reclaiming interventions, as well as how to use them effectively.

· Explore the dynamics that lead to conflict between staff and those in your care.

· Learn how to respond to the well-meaning staff member who fuels a conflict.

· Gain new insights about how to use crisis situations as learning opportunities.

Who should consider attending this workshop?

· Educators who work with challenging, confrontational, or at-risk individuals

· Educators who want additional verbal de-escalation tools and problem solving techniques

· Previous CPI training recommended, but not required to attend this workshop.
