S2:  PREPARING FOR THE NEW KUSD MIDDLE SCHOOL SCIENCE CURRICULUM - READY, SET, GO!!

INSTRUCTOR(S): Sheila Flox, Kenosha Unified School District
GRADE LEVEL: 6-8

The new HOLT Science Curriculum for KUSD middle schools will be implemented in the FALL of 2008.  So as to better prepare teachers for these new teaching materials, this class is intended to offer assistance on a number of fronts.  With the updating of our Standards and Benchmarks, a number of science topics and concepts, have been shifted to different grade levels.  This class is intended to go over these new topics and concepts offering hands-on practice and guidance with the new HOLT science materials.  Time will also be spent with the HOLT online resources as well as the CD ROMS included in the program so as to make your job easier for teaching the new curriculum when the time comes.
