PD6:  BUILDING SUCCESS FOR STUDENTS OF POVERTY

INSTRUCTOR(S): Fran Anderson, Kenosha Unified School District
GRADE LEVEL: K-12

Do you want to make a difference with all students in your classroom?  Gear up for the school year by learning specific strategies for overcoming the obstacles created by poverty.  The course is designed to be a practical help to all teachers who work with low-income students, particularly highly mobile or homeless children.  We will explore the impact of poverty on students' academic issues and behavioral patterns, and emphasis will be placed on ways to increase academic success.
