COOKING UP Math * There' s More on the Menu

INSTRUCTOR: Barb Borgwardt, WASDI Lead Teacher, Galesville Elementary, Galesville WI
GRADE LEVEL: 1-4
SUBJECT: Math

This workshop provides the second "course" for cooking up a terrific math program.  You'll enjoy many fun, meaningful learning activities that can be used right away in your classroom.  These activities can be adapted to different grade levels and re not geared to nay specific program.  We'll also have a "course" in CGI to help us better understand our children's intuitive mathematical thinking so we can use that knowledge to help them learn mathematics with understanding, and move from arithmetic thinking into algebraic thinking.  We'll also serve up some "side dishes" of ways to differentiate instruction. Some intervention strategies, Math Talk and it's importance, and discuss and practice inquiry-based instruction.

The workshop is similar, but different from my past workshop, so both new and returning participants will be able to gain ideas to enhance their instruction.
